Bali Collection at Nusa Dua, Bali

We visited one of the Souvenirs Center at Denpasar to buy some souvenirs for friends. And I learn the words 'Oleh-oleh' in Indonesian mean 'Souvenir'. :)
Then follow by this Bali Collection Shopping area (S8 48.092 E115 13.748) at Nusa Dua, Bali. The Nusa Dua area was Totally different from others place within Bali, nice, clean road and different class. Yes, prepare for the high price! :)

By entering Nusa Dua, our car had check by the securities and scan with the metal detector! Tight security!
Security check at Nusa Dua, Bali

Most of the Luxury Hotels and Resorts are located in Nusa Dua, Bali. No wonder the area was Clean and with the very strict securities and ensure all the visitors safety.

"Bali Collection Nusa Dua is the shopping complex set up for the many resorts that are located in the area. With the Grand Hyatt Bali to the south, the Melia Bali Sol to the north and the twin ‘islands’ of Nusa Dua only 400 meters to the east, the complex is easy to find. Nusa Dua itself feels like Beverly Hills, with manicured lawns, sprawling properties and a distinct lack of anything local. The Bali Collection has the feel of an outdoor mall in California, complete with small restaurants with outdoor dining, palm trees and a tranquil vibe." Source from Here.

The Bali Collection Nusa Dua was a bit special to us, because it's Not a Complex. It was actually many shops and restaurants gather in a same protected area. As you can see from the photos below...

But the weather was killing! I believe it would be different if we visit it during night time...
We popped into a Handicraft Center called The Art Market Of Bali Collection.

Well, most of the handicraft in the Art Market were familiar, which we saw most of them at other souvenirs shop. But...the prices surprised us! It cost about 3-4 times higher with the same item we saw from other market! This called 'High Class Handicraft'?! :) Doesn't matter, I'm not gonna buy it.

Beside all the Branded apparel shop and restaurant, there were nothing much attraction...

The roof design of every shops

The Recycle Area

PLEASE take note of the praying stuff on the floor and every door of the shops, Don't step on it!

Hanged around the area for about an hour, we continue to our next destination - Garuda Wisnu Kencana of Bali.

Lippo Cikarang Mall, Bekasi, Indonesia

Once our stomach filled up, we continue our journey to the nearest shopping mall : Lippo Cikarang Mall (S6°20.039' E107°08.186'), trying to buy some souvenirs for my wife and daughter. (The information about the mall was given by the Hotel staffs)

'Angkot' (Angkotan Kotaraya) - The public transportation of Cikarang, and maybe the whole of Indonesia.

We were waiting across the street of the Hotel for cab, suddenly there was a kind of 'Van without the side door' approaching us and ask : "Where are you going?" (in Indonesia language). We reply : "Lippo Cikarang Shopping Mall". The driver said he will take us there ans ask us to jump in to his 'Van'! Kind of curious, we just hop-in...
Along the road (Jalan Cikarang-Cibarusah), we saw many villages and also many small stalls, I mean 'many'!

The pictures I took on 'Angkot'

After 5 minutes drive, the 'Van' was full of Indonesian passengers. We enjoyed the view along the way, 15 minutes later....we reached the Mall. The driver was kind enough to inform us! The journey is about 4.5km and the fares was IDR3,000.00 = MYR0.90. It's cheap!

The time was about 9pm (Indonesia time) when we arrived at the mall. I started to look around, and hoping to see any unique souvenirs....
This shop "Batik Keris" caught our attention of the local batik product. I think Quachee will love it very much! I bought a small unique purse made by coconut shell and a small cute little batik bag. Beside that, there are some other stuffs I grap too! Haha!
The damages of all the souvenirs I bought : IDR57,000.00 = MYR17.80

Lippo Cikarang Shopping Mall

We meet a friendly & helpful guy on the 'Angkot' while on the way back to hotel. His name is Sunarto, working as a Project Enginner of Muitistrada. He speaks very good English! And help us to communicate with the driver of the hotel location. (We having problem in communicate the local language) It's nice to meet the locals....

Peoples here are 'friendly'. I was so surprised. Because from the news on TV and newspaper we read before about the perception, actually it's totally different here! The security along the road will definitely wave their hand to you with a courtesy smile while you walk pass!!

I had a chat with my client who migrated from Malaysia to Indonesia (10 years ago) about the surrounding. The words from her was really a shock to me! She said she is not even hear a single robbery case within a year! She felt more secure living in Indonesia than Malaysia!
I feel more positive towards the country...

Many small stall like this along the Jalan Cikarang-Cibarusah (Local Culture)

As usual, the second night end with few bottles of Bintang local beer....

China Town of Malacca

After the Stadhuys Museum, we continue our journey to the China Town of Malacca. This area actually is the Shopping Paradise.

The most convenience way to park your car (if you're driving) is the parking of Memosa Hotel (N2°11.949' E102°15.086'). MYR3.00 per entry. Even you can have a cheaper parking along the road, but it won't be easily for you to get a parking lot within this area.

Memosa Hotel

We visited the Madam King Departmental (N2°11.981' E102°15.088') which is my wife Favorite! I noticed this Popiah stall (N2°11.974' E102°15.084') located outside Madam King always full of peoples queuing.....

I feel the design of this mosque (beside Memosa Hotel) similar to the mosque at Taipei during my visit.....

Below pictures are the street of China Town - Jalan Bunga Raya

You might notice that the TV antennas over here are installed with a long pipe and at least 6-10 meters above the roof, the reason behind is to receive Singapore broadcasting TV channel.

Perling Mall, Johor Bahru

Perling Mall (N1°29.826' E103°40.880') located at the entrance of the Taman Perling residential area. It's not a huge or fancy mall to talk about, but.....it's the only antique design (attract me very much) of the every units in the shopping arcade.
It's bring you back to 1960's where Johor Bahru about.

The first floor session is quite empty maybe due to the Huge Shopping Mall surround this area....or because of the economy slow down?.....

They follow the architecture exactly what Johor Bahru looks like during the 60's & 70's.

It's actually a small shopping complex but quite crowded maybe I visited it during th weekend. Even the parking was more than 60% full of that night.
